MetroWest Residents Urged to Take Advantage of Mass Save
Nicholson Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning recommends MetroWest area residents look into the Mass Save program for help when updating their home’s efficiency
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Oct. 20, 2017 – Fall is the perfect time for homeowners in the MetroWest area to take stock of their home heating equipment before winter arrives, and Nicholson Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning recommends taking advantage of rebates that are available through Mass Save, Massachusetts’ energy assessment program. There are even zero percent financing programs available for qualifying homeowners.
Scheduling a free in-home assessment through Mass Save will help put a plan in place to improve the efficiency of the home’s HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems. During the assessment, a specialist will analyze the current energy usage of a home, create and provide a list of energy-saving recommendations, and even install many efficient products at no cost during the visit. These free products include low-flow showerheads, improved power strips, LED light bulbs, and faucet aerators.

Sponsored by area natural gas and electric utilities as well as local energy efficiency service providers, Mass Save is a great place to start when considering home improvements.
The rebates offered by Mass Save are excellent methods of reducing the significant costs of whole-unit replacements. Some of these rebates include:
- Natural gas furnaces and boilers: Up to $3,500
- Propane furnaces and boilers: Up to $3,500
- Oil furnaces and boilers: Up to $1,900
- Electric heat pumps: Up to $1,000
- Water heaters: Up to $800
- Mini-split heat pumps: Up to $300 per unit
In addition to these rebates, Mass Save’s HEAT Loan is a great way to bring an entire home up to date and stay financially responsible. The HEAT Loan offers zero percent financing for qualified energy efficiency improvement projects up to $25,000. Making improvements of this magnitude will usually result in monthly energy savings that will more than pay for the improvements in time.
